Ben-Gurion International Airport, Israel - Dr. David Harari, has been appointed President of Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI)'s European subsidiary, European Advanced Technologies (EAT), which is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. Prior to his appointment to head up EAT, Dr. Harari was IAI's Corporate Deputy Vice President for Research and Development, where he was responsible for defining IAI's strategy in investments for advanced technology research and development for both civil and defense applications.
In his new position, Dr. Harari will be responsible for promotion of IAI business development and industrial partnerships with European companies. Dr. Harari will replace Mr. Shmuel Peretz, who has retired and will return to Israel.
Dr. Harari joined IAI in 1970, as Head of the Reliability Department in the company?s Engineering Division. In 1977, he was appointed Program Manager for development and manufacturing of IAI's various Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) systems, which subsequently included the Scout, Ranger, Pioneer, Hunter and Searcher systems. In 1988, Harari organized and managed IAI's Malat (UAV) Division. In 1993, he became Managing Director for Business Development, until he was appointed in 1997 to Deputy Corporate Vice President for Research & Development.
Dr. Harari has received the following awards: Israel Defense Award (1981), Israel Marketing Award (1991), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles International Pioneer Award (1991), and an Award of Merit from the Government of France (1997).
Dr. Harari is an Electrical Engineer, and has a Ph.D. degree in Physics and computer systems engineering from Paris University, France.
He is married with 3 children.
