Will Save $800,000 Per Year on Suppliers' Evaluation Costs

Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) has been Accepted as a Member in the European Association for Suppliers Evaluation (AECMA-EASE)

Ben - Gurion International Airport - Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) is the first aerospace industry outside Europe to become a member of the European Association for Suppliers Evaluation (AECMA - EASE). "IAI's membership in the association will result in direct savings on suppliers' evaluation costs, which is estimated $800,000 yearly", said Mr. Gideon Goren, Corporate VP for Procurement & Logistics, IAI.

Founded in 1950, the European Association of Aerospace Industries (AECMA) represents the aerospace industry in Europe in all matters of common interest, to enhance competitive development of the sector.
Fifty-five aerospace companies from fifteen EU states are members of the association.

Some of the aerospace companies in the association are: Airbus, Rolls-Royce, TRW (Europe), SAAB, SAS, VOLVO, Aerospatiale Matra, Alcatel Space Industries, SAGEM, Fairchild - Dornier and other large-scale aerospace companies.

The European Association for Suppliers Evaluation (EASE), an AECMA affiliate, was created with the objective of sharing information on quality systems of aerospace suppliers common to several members, as well as performing audits to verify compliance of supplier's quality systems with European aerospace standards.

The association has a database covering 14,000 suppliers, (of whom 2,600 are shared sub-contractors). Each of the 14,000 suppliers is audited by EASE members. All members share the task of auditing the suppliers.

Mr. Gideon Goren, Corporate VP for Procurement & Logistics, IAI, said: "The acceptance of IAI to this distinguished line of aerospace industries will contribute to the company's business in Europe by providing increased accessibility to a vast database of suppliers. This step should effect major savings in the costs of supplier auditing as a result of the collaboration by EASE members".
