A farewell ceremony for Dr. Abraham (Avi) Knobel, Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI's) former Corporate Vice President for Finance, was held today. Yair Shamir, Chairman of IAI's Board of Directors, Moshe Keret, IAI's President & CEO and Itzhak Nissan, IAI's incoming President & CEO were among the participants. Dr. Knobel retired from the company in September 2005.
Yair Shamir, IAI's Chairman of the Board thanked Dr. Knobel for his contributions to the company. Shamir said: "Dr. Knobel is very well respected throughout Israel. In my meetings with Israel's business leaders, I have always received complimentary feedback and appreciation for Dr. Knobel's skills, integrity and knowledge. It was a pleasure to have worked with him."
Moshe Keret, IAI's current President & CEO said: "Avi's professional ability and credibility inspired faith in all those who knew him. As IAI's CFO he showed a great judgment. His integrity is second to none."
Itzhak Nissan, IAI's incoming President & CEO said: "Avi Knobel greatly assisted me in my previous position as Corporate Vice President and General Manager of IAI's Systems Missiles & Space Group. The complexity and volume of IAI's contracts in the field of missiles alone showed why he was so highly regarded across the company."
Ovadia Harari, IAI's Executive Vice President for Operations said: "Dr. Knobel always has acted in sincere, professional demeanor. He will be missed by everyone at IAI."
Dr. Abraham Knobel expressed his thanks to all and said: "After twenty years with IAI, I can confidently say the company has a great team of employees. I have constantly learned from my superiors, my subordinates and my colleagues. Thank you all for the trust and confidence you have displayed over the years."
