Barak-8

The Barak-8 missile is vertically launched, uses a two-pulse rocket motor and an advanced active radar seeker. The missile delivers exceptional intercept capabilities throughout a very wide operational envelope. A longer range version of the missile is also available, using the same interceptor missile with an additional booster motor. An advanced 2-way data link supports multiple simultaneous target intercepts and optimized wide area protection.

Barak-8 is offered in two basic configurations: as a ground battery or as a ship defense system.  Both configurations use the same sub-systems and an identical missile.

Barak-8 is provided with an advanced multi-mission radar from IAI/Elta, such as the ground based MFR or the naval MF-STAR.

IAI provides Barak-8 in cooperation with Rafael, which is a major sub-contractor.
